Paddy McGuinness hilariously entertained viewers on Celebrity Bake Off as he produced a very risque cookie for his Showstopper challenge in Sunday’s episode.
The comedian, 49, appeared on the show for Stand Up 2 Cancer, alongside Coleen Nolan, Inbetweeners star Joe Thomas and broadcaster Ellie Taylor.
Although he said he would be the “most laid-back” baker on the show, Paddy soon began to get competitive as the show progressed under pressure from judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.
He won the technical challenge with his cheese and onion pastries, but ultimately met with disaster in the Showstopper challenge, as his attempt to make a fireplace in Bolton ended up looking like ‘Bake Off’s greatest ever erection. “.
Meanwhile, Bake Off fans were quick to notice that Paddy was still wearing his wedding ring following his split from wife Christine in July – having been spotted without it in January.
Paddy got off to a weak start, as he pulled on his oven mitts to pull his signature jaffa cakes out of the fridge, while Paul Hollywood called them “the worst cookies I’ve ever seen with Dame Edna’s”.
However, the actor managed to sneakily distract the other bakers during the technical challenge by impersonating Paul Hollywood and giving handshakes, which allowed him to claim the top spot.
But his signature gingerbread cookie chimney in the Showstopper challenge led to disaster after disaster, with the structure flying off the bench and meaning he had to start over.
“The well has collapsed…the story of my life,” he mumbled in cheeky innuendo as he desperately tried to save his creation.
Eventually Paddy managed to fix his baking with duct tape and putting the biscuit pieces in a ‘Bolton mess’ – a version of the classic Eton Mess.
Introducing the very phallic chimney to the judges, Paddy explained his messy baking, saying, “What I was looking to do was give you the biggest erection in Bake Off.”
Although the judges were unimpressed, viewers at home were charmed by Paddy’s witty personality on the show.
One said: “Paddy just embraced chaos from the start and I respect that. #GBBO’
‘Very worried about Paddy’s well,’ added another, as Paddy tried to save his broken chimney.
A third said: ‘Could go for a nice pint glass of Bolton mess actually’, but a fourth said: ‘Paddy should have stuck to his ginger rings.’
Despite a stunning recreation of the Sydney Harbor Bridge by Ellie, Joe Thomas continued to claim the star baker’s apron with his model of Chelmsford Bus Station.
Speaking at the end of the show, he said, “I’m so shocked!” I can not believe it. I am so delighted.
“I really wanted to not be horrible and I was very lucky that a few things happened in my direction.”
Meanwhile, viewers also took to Twitter to swoon over handsome Joe, 39, who looked identical to his appearance on the TV show in 2008.
One fan said: ‘I’m hyperventilating watching Joe Thomas’, while another added: ‘He literally hasn’t aged at all since The Inbetweeners’.
