A good tough game, isn’t it? A great way to end Easter Sunday. A good game just to have a show like this. It was a mixed performance for us, but resilience was at the forefront. We found another piece of equipment when we had twelve men and when we were in the lead at the end we did enough and it felt like they appreciated that element as well which is important.
Worried about the bad start?
Not too much. Our first halves were not solid. We lost most games at halftime. But our second halves were particularly good, they were down last season and this season. They must have been because we were down at halftime. We also have to take care of the start of the game.

The answer to sin-bin
We found energy on both occasions when we had twelve men this year. We did well during this period. I think in the modern game it’s more common to play twelve so players aren’t so shocked. Going to a lot of football and games growing up, going at 12 was a big thing. But now I think a lot of teams can find ten minutes without too much trouble.
We certainly found another level of energy and I think Tetevano and Lisone on the bench today had a real impact in tandem. They played with each other and fed on each other. Zane had a spring in his step and Sam had a big impact.
The nerves at the end?
Not too bad, I didn’t have too many flutters in close games. I’m not sure what that means.
There’s a big difference between a strong little game and what we think is bad. It gives us confidence and confidence because it was the first time at the back that both teams were tired. There were other games where we had to work hard until the end when we were full of energy. But that’s the game. High-quality games, we’ve found enough.
He had a great contribution. I have watched Nene over the years and he makes a difference with his ball carrying. He can emit sloppy body language, but when the ball is back in his hands, he’s fine. He is fasting and I respect his choice of living there and doing what is right for his family and his faith. He played a solid game against the Catalans and a solid game tonight. He shows off his mind power to some of the other guys rather than just consuming calories and water.
Cam has had a good start to the season. He’s taken his game to another level, he’s struggling to take off as he continues to find more energy. He has aspects he wants to improve but he certainly has a contribution. He’s excited like it’s his first game any day because he’s Leeds Rhinos.
Goal kick from Rhyse Martin
I don’t think he struggles. He missed a few, I think every kicker that plays a swing-based sport goes through a phase. I don’t think he hits it badly, he’s had a few strikes he’d like to get back but he landed a few in tough conditions at Hull KR last week. He will resume his practice and we will trust him.
The poor start
We definitely need to improve our first half, there’s no doubt about that, but I don’t want to lose the second half either. Looks like we are going to win every second half we play. If there is something specific, we started with good intentions, there were many things that we cannot control in this first period. We are not a great team but we are doing well.
He’s played six games in a row now. I don’t think he played two in a row during his time at Wigan. From what I had seen of him playing streaks at the Academy, the reserves, some at Leigh, that was fine. I’ve seen enough to argue with him. He’s a very good human, humble confidence was what I thought. He believes in him and so do I.
