Carol Vorderman is never shy about showing off her incredible hourglass figure.
And she regularly gives fans insight into how she maintains her incredible physique, regularly taking to Instagram during her grueling workouts.
But what do we know about her personal trainer, Mel Deane, who worked with Hollywood’s elite, including Jamie Dornan and Niall Horan?
Rio and Kate Ferdinand’s favorite coach before played professional rugby for Richmond, Sale Sharks, Harlequins, Connacht and Ireland A.
Mel graduated from Brunel University with a Bachelor of Sports Science and has since worked towards a series of level one and two coaching qualifications.
He also directs Kirsty Gallacher, Katherine Jenkins and Nick Frost in the gym.
In October, Carol announced that she had hired a personal trainer and he had put her through her paces.
More recently, the 62-year-old gave some insight into how she maintains her amazing physique as she hit the gym on Monday for a workout.
The TV presenter donned skintight black leggings and a skintight black top while sweating it out with weights and toning exercises.
She undertook a range of exercises including squats, lunges, abdominal exercises and awesome pull ups as well as arm exercises.
Carol wore her long blonde tresses in loose waves over her shoulders and opted for a pop of makeup.
She wrote in the caption: ‘MONDAY GYM SESH WITH @MELDEANE12! Boommmmmmm! Cut! It’s Monday! LET’S GO ❤️.
‘On my way to a meeting now in town… Better get changed!!! Leggings: @pourmoiltd.’
It comes after Carol opened up about her five “special friends” she has relationships with.
In an interview with You magazine, she said everything worked out just fine because she didn’t want to be in love and wasn’t jealous.
Carol said her lovers are all single – and she said she wouldn’t mind if one of her lovers fell in love with someone else and moved on.
One thing that surely tied Carol to a younger generation is her attitude towards dating and her willingness to talk about it openly, if not in great detail.
“Oh yeah, yeah, my ‘special friends,'” she said. “I continue with this system and it works very well.”
There are five. She said: “One has been a friend for 11 years, one for seven years. My children [Katie, 31, and Cameron, 25]know most of them.
Carol admitted that she relishes the independence and freedom the setup gives her and says it’s okay if her partners want more privacy than she provides, “as long as y’all are being honest and having a good time”.
Everyone involved is single – she works on the principle of ‘do no harm’ – and if anyone met anyone else, that would be fine.
She continued: “I’m not a jealous person and I’m happy when my friends are happy whether they’re ‘special friends’ or not.
“The purpose of my life is to be happy, not to be in love. I just find people interesting and life interesting.
“And you can get to a stage where you choose the tracks that you like. You can’t in your 30s because you’re making your way through your career, you’re beholden to bosses and all those sorts of things. But in the sixties…’
Carol has been single since splitting from journalist Des Kelly in 2007, having been married twice, first to Christopher Mather from 1985 to 1986 and then to her second husband Patrick King from 1990 to 2000 – the father of his two children.
She has become something of a social media star thanks to some of her sexy posts in which she wears tight workout clothes and dresses.
An icon of body positivity almost by default, she is indifferent to the recent return of skinny models to the catwalks.
“It’s just the fashion,” she says. “I’ve always had a big ass.”
Carol trains in the gym and is a strong supporter of health treatments: fasting, turmeric, hyperbaric oxygen therapy…
To stimulate mitochondria in regenerating cells and help ward off dementia, she takes spermidine tablets. “Name after what you might imagine because that’s where it was first found,” she laughed.
“But these tablets aren’t made from that.”
She watches what she drinks ‘because I can’t deal with the hangover’, hasn’t had surgery and admits to having facial injections of Botox and P3.
“Name me someone on TV, male or female, any age, who doesn’t have this thing!” she says. “But often I don’t brush my hair for days.”
