Zara McDermott and Sam Thompson sparked speculation among fans as they continued to share information about their Maldives getaway over the weekend.

The Made In Chelsea stars, aged 26 and 30 respectively, enjoyed a host of unique activities during their trip to paradise, including swimming with sharks, snorkeling in the Indian Ocean and parasailing.

Yet one of their new photos left their fans scratching their heads, as a snap taken at night showed Zara with her hand resting on Sam’s chest – with the ring finger tucked away – as they locked down lips, causing confusion about their marital status.

The comments section under the photo – shared by Sam – was inundated with curious supporters asking if he had asked the question.

The image particularly threw his Made In Chelsea co-star and friend Josh Patterson, who wrote: “I really thought it was a proposal pic, was about to start a stag wishlist! ” – join a legion of confused fans.

Other subscribers wrote: “I really thought it was a commitment [photo] also…let us all down here not propose…me too thought about the weather and what a perfect place to have proposed!…it has to happen soon!…

‘We all thought that…Ask her to marry you already!!!!…thought the same thing!…I never wanted a couple I didn’t know to get more engaged than you two !’

Zara’s ring finger remained conspicuously hidden in the image.

Neglecting to mention the wedding in the caption, Sam wrote under the photo, “Sam, sunsets, get out the tripod we need to do a kiss pic!”…

‘Jokes aside, what a 2 weeks we’ve had. Traveling to see the most beautiful sites with my best friend and soul mate. I am so lucky. I love you so much goose. Memories I will never forget.”

Before sharing the confusing image, Zara also shared a montage of videos showing the couple engaging in a host of fun activities while stunning in bikinis.

While Zara is known for sharing sizzling snaps on Instagram, Sam doesn’t hold back when he takes to social media with pranks and mock videos.

On Wednesday, he again suffered stitches as he shared a video from his holiday in the Maldives. He sported quite a different look as he sported a bright pink bikini, borrowed from his girlfriend Zara.

Shooting a video to poke fun at the content often shared by influencers overseas, he hilariously recreated a slew of bikini poses.

As he jibed during widely shared holiday videos, Sam’s girlfriend Zara took to the comments section to joke that he called her with the clip.

Sam and Zara flew to the Maldives last week for a couple’s getaway, after a busy few months of work on the former.

But instead of chilling out and relaxing, the duo decided to have fun instead by poking fun at typical holiday posts from social media influencers.

The video started with Sam jumping out of bed in a white dress, ripping it off to reveal a pink one-shoulder bikini underneath.

Doing some extravagant poses as he strutted towards the patio doors, he then walked into an infinity pool on their balcony and recreated an iconic pool pose often seen online.

Going a step further, the reality star got on her back by the pool to copy another iconic vacation pose.

But the swimsuit seemed to come with its logistical issues for Sam, who covered her crotch with an emoji in the video as Zara could be heard behind the camera interrupting the video to tell her not everything was covered.

“Influencers when they go on vacation,” Sam wrote on the clip, before captioning, “It’s all the same moves. Only. Time’.

A pose looked very similar to one former Love Island star Zara had done while sunbathing earlier – with the star quick to call her boyfriend.

“Just @me next time yeah?” Zara joked in the comments section.

While others also joined the comments to share that the TV star is ‘shuddering’, with a quip: ‘Why does Sam look better in a bikini than me?’

The time needed together comes after Sam spent a few months working on Love Island, where he presented the show’s podcast alongside Indiyah Polack, as well as host Maya Jama for spin-off show Aftersun weekly. .

But it looks like Sam won’t be returning home with a golden tan, as he admitted to his Instagram followers that he suffered severe burns when he arrived in the South Asian state.

Sharing that he would be in the shade, or under towels, for the foreseeable, the TV personality noted that Zara had no problem.

Sharing a stunning snap of herself sunbathing on the water, he wondered why his girlfriend didn’t appear to be burning at all.
